Describe your business
I am a professional polo
player, based in Midhurst, and playing at
Cowdray Park during the summer months. Polo
is an exhilarating sport, and I have very
much enjoyed playing for England, and many
top teams worldwide. My business is run from
a private polo yard, and my time away from
playing is spent developing my string of ponies,
training young horses and giving polo lessons
to individuals and small groups. Being a polo
player is great fun, and I am keen to share
my passion with those who want to learn. I
really enjoy teaching polo and I offer friendly
one-to-one coaching for people to learn to
play from scratch or develop their existing
polo skills.
What are your current
ambitions?
To keep improving my own
polo playing, and I would also like to build
up my polo teaching business and expand my
livery services for clients. I have a good
network all over the world, particularly in
the UK, and Florida where I play in the winter,
and I aim to use this to help new clients
have fun in the polo world.
Why did you choose
Midhurst to set up your business.
It's a polo paradise here!
Midhurst has been my home for almost 20 years
now. The town offers a great quality of life,
and is surrounded by beautiful countryside
- perfect for horses - and it's not too far
from London. Midhurst is also home to Cowdray
Park Polo Club, which hosts the premier English
polo event of the year, the Veuve Clicquot
Gold Cup - for me there's no better place
to be!
